Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product leads and technical leads to understand requirements, estimate work, and refine the roadmap.
- Lead a squad, serve as a technical lead, and own projects end-to-end while communicating status and changes to stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-scale software frameworks and functionality.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, testing coverage, monitoring, observability, and resilient system design.
- Design test automation, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot platform and production issues, and support service operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to bring new platforms to market.
- Support security, software licensing, and regulatory audits and implement controls to address compliance risks.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Strong backend software engineering experience on technology products.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and JEE, including concurrency, design patterns, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot microservices, JUnit, Mockito, JPA/Hibernate, and debugging distributed applications.
- Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, relational database design, RESTful API development, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
- Some experience with React or another modern frontend framework.
- Experience troubleshooting large-scale distributed production systems and designing scalable, resilient solutions.
- Ideally, experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and containerized deployment of JEE applications.
- Experience working in a full-stack team using agile delivery practices.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services, Docker, Helm, CI/CD pipeline design, source control, monitoring, and infrastructure as code is desirable.
- Experience with NoSQL data modeling, DynamoDB or similar AWS-native services, and commodity trading, planning, scheduling, or regulated energy and financial trading environments is desirable.
- Ability to mentor engineers, communicate with stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
