Base Salary

$190k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day development and evolution of PermitFlow’s React component library.
  • Build robust, accessible, and documented atoms, molecules, organisms, and templates in Storybook.
  • Define and enforce component API contracts, design token usage, prop interfaces, and variant patterns.
  • Review pull requests into the component library and maintain quality and consistency.
  • Partner with designers using Figma to translate design specifications into production-ready components.
  • Manage the design system roadmap, including new component development and application migration work.
  • Use Chromatic for visual regression testing and maintain Storybook as the documentation source of truth.
  • Lead the cross-team Design Systems Guild and coordinate engineering champions across product squads.
  • Reduce frontend complexity through consolidation and design system adoption.

Requirements

  • Strong fundamentals in React and TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining a production design system or component library.
  • Portfolio, GitHub profile, or Storybook instance demonstrating relevant work is valued.
  • Strong visual and interaction design judgment.
  • Experience partnering closely with product designers on specifications, tradeoffs, and abstractions.
  • Familiarity with Figma and developer experience tools such as Storybook and Chromatic, or equivalents.
  • Strong written communication for documenting standards and decisions.
  • Tailwind CSS experience is a strong plus.
  • ShadCN or Radix UI primitives experience is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards is a plus.
