Responsibilities
- Develop new backend functionality using Go as the primary language and PHP as a secondary language.
- Migrate business logic from legacy PHP monoliths to Go-based services.
- Ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of production systems.
- Contribute to infrastructure improvements, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Conduct code reviews focused on best practices, code quality, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in backend development.
- Commercial experience with Go/Golang and strong knowledge of idiomatic Go patterns, best practices, and application design.
- Experience with PHP, preferably Symfony or Laravel.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with asynchronous messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or Amazon SQS.
- Experience with caching and in-memory data stores such as Redis or AWS ElastiCache.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, observability, production troubleshooting, Linux, and Docker.
- Ability to write and maintain unit tests.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include PHP 8+ experience, PHP-to-Go migration experience, distributed and high-load systems experience, AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, service mesh technologies such as Istio, microservices, REST APIs, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design.
