Responsibilities

  • Lead the full software development lifecycle, including application design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Mentor junior software engineers and provide technical guidance on coding standards, best practices, and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications with Java-based development.
  • Write automated unit tests and support unit, integration, functional, and performance testing.
  • Monitor software performance, diagnose technical challenges, and implement improvements for quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product, business, and cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and help influence technical direction when applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or comparable experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent experience based on role requirements, with a strong focus on Java-based application development.
  • Experience building and maintaining distributed, scalable, multi-tier applications and supporting application design, development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, NoSQL databases, and relational databases.
  • Experience with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality practices, and DevOps principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver scalable solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Preferred experience leading small teams, mentoring engineers, driving technical initiatives, and conducting architecture reviews.
  • Preferred exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker and Kubernetes; and event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
