Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting the menu experience across mobile and web.
- Implement and optimize the Backend-for-Frontend layer for efficient data handling and low-latency API responses.
- Develop and maintain the Server-Driven UI service within the BFF architecture.
- Collaborate with frontend, mobile, product, and design teams on menu-related features.
- Optimize database queries and caching strategies for high-performance API responses.
- Improve monitoring, observability, and logging for backend services.
- Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions while contributing to technical best practices.
Requirements
- At least five years of backend development experience with Kotlin or another JVM-based language.
- At least five years of backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- At least five years of experience with TypeScript and ReactJS web applications or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Backend-for-Frontend architecture.
- Experience with SQL databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and microservices.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for backend services and APIs.
- Understanding of performance optimization, caching, and API response efficiency.
- Prior experience working with established design systems.
- Advanced English communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
- Preferred knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred familiarity with DataDog and logging frameworks.
- Preferred proficiency using AI coding tools such as Cursor or Windsurf.
