Base Salary
$125k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end creation of features and internal tools serving hundreds of thousands of users.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Create comprehensive technical specifications and review other developers’ specifications.
- Write code and direct code generation to implement approved solutions at high quality standards.
- Mentor engineers on scalability, design patterns, and edge-case discovery.
- Verify solutions throughout development, including happy and unhappy paths, and monitor success after release.
- Optimize SQL, minimize database trips, manage in-memory load, and use third-party services effectively.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience developing high-quality production code using Node.js.
- Experience using TypeScript for API contracts, clean data, and regression prevention.
- Experience modeling data in MySQL or PostgreSQL and safely evolving schemas against live production data.
- Experience designing and versioning REST APIs with reliable, backward-compatible contracts.
- Experience building rigorous test suites suitable as a production release quality gate.
- Experience optimizing SQL, database access, in-memory load, and third-party service usage.
- Ability to solve complex problems, take end-to-end ownership, collaborate across teams, and work effectively amid ambiguity.
