Base Salary
$165k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize web UI components for Reddit’s media player using React and TypeScript.
- Design and implement backend APIs using Go and Python to power media playback experiences.
- Contribute across the full development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Collaborate with product, design, client engineering, and platform engineering teams to deliver media features and improve global performance.
- Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mocks, and establish developer workflow best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and help grow their technical expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, React, Next.js, and TypeScript, including translating complex UI/UX designs into scalable web applications.
- Experience designing and implementing maintainable APIs using GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, and Thrift basics.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, delivery, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
