Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed-system components using distributed state management and data-plane platforms.
- Define scalability, performance, availability, durability, and service-level-objective requirements for owned components.
- Design fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, in-service upgrades, load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting.
- Develop performance and load tests, fault-injection and brownout scenarios, replication and synchronization mechanisms, and correctness validations.
- Define KPIs and telemetry and build dashboards, monitoring systems, and alerts for system health.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues; participate in operational support rotations, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Implement security controls, execute remediation plans, maintain compliance documentation, and protect data in multi-tenant environments.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code scripts and automation for cloud infrastructure patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Coordinate moderately complex projects, provide technical oversight, mentor junior team members, participate in interviews, and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead development and architect scalable distributed systems for high-throughput, hyper-scale workloads.
- Experience designing fault-tolerant, durable, highly available systems with replication, failover, partition-handling, and in-service upgrade capabilities.
- Experience with telemetry, dashboards, alerting, performance testing, fault injection, data synchronization, and operational troubleshooting.
- Ability to implement security controls, remediate security gaps, support regulatory compliance, and maintain technical documentation.
- Experience developing infrastructure automation or infrastructure-as-code and following change-management practices for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
- Ability to coordinate moderately complex initiatives, collaborate across teams, solve complex problems, mentor others, and contribute to candidate evaluation.

- U.S. hiring range is $114,600-$234,600 per annum, with possible bonus, equity, and compensation deferral; applications are generally accepted for at least three calendar days or while the posting remains open.
