Responsibilities
- Develop and extend firmware for sensor boards, motor controllers, and power and monitoring hardware.
- Build specialized projects on the existing firmware baselayer while avoiding regressions in fielded towers.
- Harden firmware security through authenticated and verified updates and protection of physically accessible interfaces.
- Own firmware updates, including updates that can be safely applied to units already deployed in the field.
- Collaborate with tower software engineers to diagnose failures across the firmware and service boundary.
- Work with hardware engineers on board bring-up, debugging, and production validation.
Requirements
- 4+ years of firmware development experience using C.
- Strong understanding of ARM and RISC-V microcontroller architectures.
- Proficiency with TCP/IP, CAN, SPI, and I2C networking or communication protocols.
- Experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
- Familiarity with JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Understanding of computer architecture and memory management.
- US person status and eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance are required.
- Preferred qualifications include kernel development, device-driver implementation, cryptography, secure boot, DMA, interrupt handling, power management, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and a background in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
