Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Gather firmware requirements and convert high-level designs into device interfaces and higher-level firmware system designs.
  • Define, develop, integrate, validate, and optimize SERDES PHY firmware from pre-silicon design through post-silicon bring-up.
  • Translate bring-up and validation requirements into efficient C/C++ firmware and reusable software components.
  • Collaborate with ASIC, digital design, digital verification, hardware, systems, software, and program management teams to meet performance and schedule requirements.
  • Develop test, debug, diagnostics, error-monitoring, and board/interface configuration capabilities for hardware and firmware validation.
  • Debug and drive low-level software, silicon, hardware, and integration issues to closure.
  • Develop and document firmware and hardware design specifications, architectural decisions, and validation requirements.
  • Plan and implement regression test cases to improve reliability and release quality.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and customers to ensure requirements and release-quality targets are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement in firmware development and validation processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 4+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 3+ years or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • 2+ years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • 6+ years of embedded systems experience with platforms such as ARM, RISC-V, or MIPS.
  • Strong experience with low-level bare-metal programming, BIOS/UEFI firmware, Linux kernel, RTOS, and device drivers.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
  • Experience developing software or firmware to control analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools, digital verification methodologies, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with SerDes, Ethernet, PCIe, D2D/UCIe, or related communication systems.
  • Hands-on experience validating CPU, SoC, FPGA, MCU, and DSP components and developing laboratory test and debug tools.
  • Knowledge of protocols and peripherals including Ethernet, DDR, I2C, SPI/QSPI, MIPI/CSI, GMSL, A2B, I2S, TDM, LVDS, PCIe, USB, NVMe, and CAN.
  • Experience with high-speed signal bring-up and diagnostics, error monitoring, and board/interface configuration APIs.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers, and I2C/SPI tools.
  • Preferred experience with embedded Linux, Buildroot, Yocto, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, FPGAs, Xilinx, Zed, or MicroZed.
  • Preferred hardware debugging experience involving power, signal integrity, and EMC validation and tuning.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum is preferred.
