Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and deploy scalable, low-latency microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Python and Django.
- Design and optimize relational and non-relational databases, schemas, indexes, queries, ORM usage, and caching strategies.
- Lead architectural reviews, define coding standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, improve application speed, support zero-downtime deployments, and maintain error-monitoring systems.
- Enforce security and compliance best practices across APIs and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering leads, and DevOps to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining complex backend software systems in production.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and extensive production experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented design, Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
- Expert knowledge of SQL, schema design, index optimization, ORM tuning, and caching mechanisms including Redis and Memcached.
- Strong experience with asynchronous task queues, background workers, and message brokers such as Celery, RabbitMQ, and Apache Kafka.
- Experience designing, building, and documenting secure, versioned RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
- Experience with unit, integration, and load testing using tools such as pytest and locust, plus CI/CD automation workflows.
- Mastery of Git, branching strategies, and collaborative code integration.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, microservices or event-driven architecture migrations, observability tools, and React or Vue.js.
