Responsibilities
- Collaborate with art and design teams to create and iterate on gameplay AI features
- Experiment with game design and rapid prototyping while making sound architectural and algorithmic decisions
- Build and maintain core AI systems in the Fortnite AI ecosystem
- Collaborate with engine AI developers to improve AI systems
- Ensure high-quality user experiences across all supported platforms
- Optimize and fix bugs in existing gameplay AI systems
Requirements
- Professional game development experience and experience shipping AAA titles with AI
- Experience working with behavior trees, finite state machines, pathfinding, or similar AI systems
- Strong C++ skills and the ability to architect AI gameplay mechanics and tools
- Strong knowledge of games and the ability to evaluate existing game design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Live-service game experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently with creativity, self-motivation, and strong problem-solving skills
