Software Engineer - Backend (Product)

Responsibilities
- Design and ship backend APIs and services from 0-to-1 prototypes through enterprise rollout.
- Own a product area end to end, including data modeling, API design, performance, reliability, and operational health.
- Partner with product, design, and frontend engineers to turn ambiguous problems into technical plans.
- Tune performance and reliability under production load, including peaks from real-time alert pipelines.
- Build monitoring, logging, and alerting to identify issues before customers do.
- Contribute to architecture reviews, code reviews, and team standards.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, including meaningful experience with user-facing web or mobile products.
- Strong Python skills and production experience with Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
- Experience designing APIs using REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.
- Ability to model data across SQL, NoSQL, time-series, and vector stores and understand their tradeoffs.
- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Track record of debugging difficult production issues and delivering fixes.
- Preferred experience with real-time systems such as WebSockets, server-sent events, pub/sub, or streaming pipelines.
- Preferred working knowledge of TypeScript and a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.
- Preferred background in video infrastructure, computer vision applications, notification and alert routing, or LLM and agentic applications.
- Preferred experience scaling multi-tenant SaaS for large enterprise deployments.
