Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable cloud-based software architectures.
- Own complete features through design, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production release.
- Design and contribute to APIs supporting web and mobile user experiences.
- Analyze applications and databases and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and other teams to translate complex requirements into clean, extensible solutions.
- Troubleshoot software issues and debug a large codebase.
- Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
- Contribute to technical documentation and maintainability of software assets.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend software.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and batch processing.
- Strong database and data-modeling fundamentals across relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- 5+ years of experience building solutions with AWS technologies, including Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and API Gateway.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop clean and extensible APIs.
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with security, documentation, monitoring, and Agile/Scrum best practices.
