Responsibilities
- Define enterprise integration strategy and patterns across Salesforce and external systems.
- Select and govern REST, SOAP, event-driven, batch, bulk, and middleware integration approaches.
- Architect Salesforce integrations using Apex callouts, Named Credentials, External Services, Platform Events, and Streaming API.
- Define API management standards covering versioning, throttling, security, error handling, and retries.
- Own integration architecture documentation, including sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and interface control documents.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects to align integrations with the broader IT landscape and API-led connectivity principles.
- Define monitoring, logging, and alerting standards for integration health.
- Conduct performance and load testing and troubleshoot production integration issues.
- Guide API reuse and governance to prevent point-to-point integration sprawl.
Requirements
- 10–15+ years of experience in integration or enterprise architecture and 5+ years of Salesforce experience.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming, and Platform Events APIs.
- Experience with at least one enterprise middleware or iPaaS platform.
- Understanding of OAuth, SAML, JWT, authentication, and authorization protocols.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, marketing platforms, or custom systems.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and microservices concepts.
- Salesforce Certified Integration Architect certification.
- Salesforce Certified System Architect certification.
- Preferred experience with API-led connectivity and System, Process, and Experience API layers.
- Preferred exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud integrations, Heroku, AWS, or Azure integration services.
- Relevant MuleSoft or Boomi middleware certification is a plus.
