Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of novel quantum-enhanced applications and services for defense and national security.
- Develop scalable hybrid quantum algorithms and applications with practical real-world applicability.
- Evaluate and communicate the trade-offs, scaling behavior, and state of the art of classical and quantum optimization algorithms and tools.
- Participate in the full hybrid quantum software lifecycle from concept and design through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Collaborate with delivery leads, application developers, solution architects, and internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Quantum Information Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
- At least three years of hands-on professional software development experience with C, C++, Python, or another general-purpose compiled programming language.
- Practical quantum computing experience, including quantum application programming or quantum circuit compilation.
- Proficiency with one or more quantum programming languages, SDKs, or APIs such as Qiskit, CUDA-Q, Q#, Cirq, or PennyLane.
- Expertise in linear algebra, matrix decompositions, probability theory, group theory, symmetry, and computational complexity.
- Proficiency with database systems and SQL, including hands-on relational database experience.
- Experience with Git version control, build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and software testing practices.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or Ph.D., classical optimization experience with CPLEX, Gurobi, or OR-Tools, cloud and distributed application development, HPC or parallel programming, quantum hardware familiarity, and defense or aerospace experience.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
