Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test infrastructure for hardware products and associated firmware components.
- Architect, design, and develop test frameworks and tools and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and other system-level testing for embedded firmware, hardware interactions, and application software.
- Collaborate with embedded software engineers to improve code testability and define testable interfaces and mock layers.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, design discussions, and other Agile activities.
- Develop documentation including testing patterns, best practices, test plans, test cases, bug reports, and research findings.
- Coach peers on testing techniques and methodologies and guide test automation decisions.
- Represent QA in cross-functional meetings and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Strong software development and design skills for building test automation infrastructure.
- Strong coding skills in Python, C, or C++.
- Experience with embedded firmware.
- Extensive experience with software testing techniques, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience with Selenium, Robot Framework, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with electronic design and PCB layouts.
- Experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
- Knowledge of and troubleshooting experience with BLE and Wi-Fi networking protocols.
- A background demonstrating critical thinking, passion for quality, and hands-on tinkering such as creating apps or robots.
