Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Java and Spring Boot microservice applications for automation and cost reduction.
- Build and maintain integrations between microservices and cloud infrastructure while supporting reliability and performance.
- Contribute to feature development from technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Translate business and engineering requirements into technical specifications and explain application processes.
- Implement solutions meeting audit, security, regulatory, and architectural standards.
- Participate in code reviews and support the technical development of junior engineers.
- Evaluate technical risks and take ownership of project components end to end.
Requirements
- Hands-on Java software development experience with deep proficiency in Core Java and the Spring Framework, including Spring Core, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services and applying microservices architecture principles.
- Proficiency with Maven or Gradle, Git, JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ, and Cucumber.
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SLF4J, or Log4j.
- Experience containerizing and orchestrating applications with Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD environments.
- Experience with Kafka or equivalent message-queuing technologies and event-driven architectures.
- Ability to manage priorities independently, communicate technical decisions clearly, and work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Working knowledge of Python, JVM performance tuning, and application profiling is beneficial.
- Experience in financial services or another large, regulated, global organization is beneficial.
