Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality code for high-throughput sequencing data analysis, genome analysis, and interpretation.
- Develop and maintain data-platform software supporting the lifecycle and integration of bioinformatics and scientific database data.
- Contribute to testing, deployment, discovery, software design, documentation, and traceability through production.
- Provide bioinformatics subject-matter expertise within an agile squad.
- Ensure adherence to clinical laboratory, software delivery, standards, and accreditation requirements.
Requirements
- Excellent Python coding skills and solid bioinformatics knowledge, including NGS and clinical-genomics standards, data formats, toolchains, annotation tools, and databases.
- Proficiency in Linux, Git, Postgres or similar relational database management systems, and production-quality algorithm and software development for large datasets.
- Excellent technical writing skills and experience working effectively in agile squads.
- Experience building code using CI/CD.
- MSc equivalent or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent experience.
- AWS serverless technology experience with Lambda, Step Functions, and S3, and experience with containerized applications such as Docker, are desirable.
