Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality code for high-throughput sequencing data analysis, genome analysis, and interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain data-platform software supporting the lifecycle and integration of bioinformatics and scientific database data.
  • Contribute to testing, deployment, discovery, software design, documentation, and traceability through production.
  • Provide bioinformatics subject-matter expertise within an agile squad.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical laboratory, software delivery, standards, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

  • Excellent Python coding skills and solid bioinformatics knowledge, including NGS and clinical-genomics standards, data formats, toolchains, annotation tools, and databases.
  • Proficiency in Linux, Git, Postgres or similar relational database management systems, and production-quality algorithm and software development for large datasets.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and experience working effectively in agile squads.
  • Experience building code using CI/CD.
  • MSc equivalent or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or equivalent experience.
  • AWS serverless technology experience with Lambda, Step Functions, and S3, and experience with containerized applications such as Docker, are desirable.
