Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain AI agents from prototype through production.
- Develop agent skills, tool-use pipelines, benchmarks, and other reusable infrastructure.
- Prototype agent architectures, prompting strategies, tool integrations, and evaluation frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal science and engineering teams to improve agent capabilities and reliability.
- Spend approximately 30% of the time with R&D partners understanding workflows and validating solutions.
- Translate field insights and internal research into product direction and prioritization.
Requirements
- Typically 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems used by real users.
- Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, and evaluation frameworks.
- Strong foundation in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript and ability to learn new tools and frameworks quickly.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, science, and product teams and work effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Preferred experience in life sciences, biomedical research, scientific computing, technical R&D workflows, agent systems, tool-use pipelines, AI evaluation, benchmarking, or open-source scientific and AI tooling.
