Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, enterprise-grade Java backend applications for Equity Derivatives Trade Management.
- Deliver solutions across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through deployment and ongoing support.
- Translate business and client requirements into technical designs, provide effort estimates, and communicate delivery approaches.
- Conduct code reviews and test case reviews to ensure functional and quality requirements are met.
- Identify and communicate delivery risks proactively.
- Collaborate with front office, operations, and product teams to propose technically sound solutions.
- Perform systems analysis, component-level design, coding, unit testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise backend applications with Core Java version 1.7 or above.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Working knowledge of SQL and ability to write and interpret queries.
- Experience with at least one messaging middleware platform such as Tibco EMS, Solace, or IBM MQ.
- Ability to work independently and own deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Experience across requirements analysis, technical design, coding, testing, and delivery.
- Familiarity with HTML5 and React.js is beneficial.
- Experience in capital markets, trading, or financial services technology, particularly equity derivatives or similar products, is beneficial.
- Ability to work in agile delivery environments and adapt to changing requirements is beneficial.
