Responsibilities
- Lead backend development and maintain server-side logic.
- Take ownership of services, deploying and operating them in production.
- Collaborate with CloudEng to improve production environments and monitoring.
- Participate in on-call support and resolve production issues.
- Handle releases and incoming work requests from stakeholders.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and quality.
- Partner with frontend and cross-functional teams to align on project goals.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high standards of code quality.
- Conduct security and privacy reviews to meet compliance standards.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software development with a focus on backend technologies.
- Strong experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization.
- Hands-on DevOps experience on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Sentry and Grafana.
- Commitment to shipping quality work and making sensible trade-offs.
- Strong engineering judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Ownership mindset with experience in on-call production support.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence.
