Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support mission-critical production applications.
- Lead technical initiatives and deliver high-quality, scalable, reliable software solutions.
- Design and implement new systems and features independently.
- Automate production-support workflows including evidence gathering, health checks, ticket enrichment, reporting, and operational recovery.
- Develop monitoring and observability solutions with dashboards, alerts, log analysis, and service-health reporting.
- Deploy and support applications on cloud or container platforms.
- Contribute to production incident management, root-cause analysis, runbooks, change validation, service-level objectives, auditability, and operational controls.
- Collaborate with development, production support, infrastructure, operations, business, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong software development experience delivering production-grade applications with increasing responsibility for technical design, operational support, or engineering leadership.
- Strong proficiency with Java, SQL, and Git.
- Proficiency with data standards, data modeling, XML, and JSON.
- Proficiency with messaging frameworks and platforms such as MQ, IBM MQ, and Kafka.
- Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration.
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and system testing and with DevOps practices for build, deployment, release validation, and production support.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications on cloud or container platforms, including orchestration, configuration, resilience, and operational monitoring.
- Comfort working in Windows and Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, and Moogsoft for monitoring and observability.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Java and at least one scripting language such as Python or Shell.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and working with JSON and XML.
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD tools including GitLab, Jenkins, and Maven, or equivalent technologies.
- Understanding of production incident management, root-cause analysis, runbooks, operational controls, change validation, service-level objectives, auditability, and human approval requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Understanding of secure development, change management, data protection, auditability, segregation of duties, and financial-services regulatory controls.
