Responsibilities
- Design and build backend-heavy product and platform features.
- Productionize AI-enabled capabilities such as anomaly detection, recommendations, and agent-based workflows.
- Build distributed data pipelines processing cloud billing, usage, and AI telemetry.
- Develop reliable systems supporting backfills, late-arriving data, and historical reprocessing.
- Design scalable data models and APIs for customer-facing analytics and AI cost insights.
- Build AI features with evaluation criteria, feedback loops, guardrails, rollout strategies, and rollback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Product to turn product vision into shipped features.
- Shape engineering standards and repeatable patterns for AI-enabled development.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Deep backend expertise in Python, with Java or C++ as secondary languages.
- Experience building and operating data-intensive backend systems or production pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, reliability, and data processing.
- Ability to design scalable systems and take them from concept through production.
- Experience using AI-driven development and building AI capabilities in real production systems.
- Hands-on experience building on AWS.
- Ability to architect backend services supporting asynchronous workflows, event-driven pipelines, and long-running AI agents.
- Ability to evaluate AI trade-offs involving latency, explainability, data availability, and maintainability.
- Strong product thinking, communication, ownership, and collaboration skills.
