Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for F5 BIG-IP, NGINX, and F5 Distributed Cloud Services.
- Design scalable, secure, highly available application delivery and security solutions for customer requirements, including AI and containerized workloads.
- Lead customer technical discussions, presentations, demonstrations, proposal development, and Proofs of Concept.
- Develop solution diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans for application, AI, and cloud-native architectures.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, product management, and client stakeholders throughout pre-sales, implementation, and deployment.
- Troubleshoot complex F5 deployments, including deployments involving Kubernetes and AI workloads.
- Provide technical feedback on product direction and support the introduction and go-to-market strategy of new F5 products and features.
- Create internal knowledge, methodologies, best practices, white papers, blog posts, and industry presentations.
- Potentially mentor and guide junior team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent level of experience.
- 15+ years of experience designing and implementing network or application delivery solutions, preferably with strong F5 expertise.
- Deep expertise in F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, GTM, APM, and AWAF; NGINX and F5 Distributed Cloud experience are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, networking, and security principles.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AI Factories, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI Gateways, Application-to-Application concepts, and Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol is preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and Ansible for automation, with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools preferred.
- Experience deploying or securing AI/ML applications, working in consulting or professional services, and providing product feedback is advantageous.
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, independent-working, and teamwork abilities, including experience with major industry presentations or Mainstage Keynotes.
- Relevant F5 certifications, such as F5 Certified! Technology Specialist, are highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in application delivery or security and knowledge of other application delivery and security technologies.
