Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade full-stack applications.
- Design and maintain high-performance distributed applications using Java, Scala, and modern data-processing frameworks.
- Architect and build microservices-based solutions using Java, Scala, Spring Boot, Akka, or equivalent frameworks.
- Develop and integrate real-time data-processing pipelines using Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Design scalable and resilient systems using Azure, AWS, or GCP and related cloud-native services.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor.ai, Replit, and GitHub Copilot.
- Ensure coding, security, performance, and DevOps best practices are followed.
- Mentor and manage developers and foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Participate in client discussions, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Drive Agile delivery practices across the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Java full-stack engineering.
- Mandatory experience developing distributed, data-intensive applications with Scala.
- Strong Java and Scala development experience, including Java 8/11/17+ and Scala.
- Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, functional programming, and reactive programming.
- Backend experience building scalable distributed systems with Java and Scala.
- Expertise in Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL; MongoDB and Cassandra are desirable.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native services, CI/CD, and DevOps tools.
- Frontend experience with Angular or React is desirable.
- Experience with scalable system design and performance optimization.
- Strong leadership, team management, communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Client-facing experience and the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, or capital markets and understanding of financial systems, regulations, and workflows are desirable.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
