Software Engineer I
TripAdvisorResponsibilities
- Contribute to the full software lifecycle from design and coding through testing and deployment.
- Release production code frequently, including near-daily deployments.
- Build clean, readable full-stack solutions using the Java ecosystem and web technologies.
- Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools for boilerplate, tests, and small refactors.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data experts through design reviews and feedback.
Requirements
- Typically 0–2 years of experience following a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with web application development and proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, C#, Go, or Python.
- Basic understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Comfort using Cursor, Codex, Claude, or Open Code for AI-assisted coding.
- Willingness to work within the Java ecosystem after joining.
- Clear communication skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
