Base Salary
$151k - $281k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, test, and deploy software systems for neural interfaces and data acquisition systems.
- Write algorithms to decode and modulate neural activity.
- Own end-to-end software engineering for neural stimulation control, the Blindsight visual prosthesis, and medical imaging data pipelines.
- Design user experiences centered on neural control of devices.
- Mentor others through code reviews, design reviews, and technical presentations.
- Present results collaboratively and support research sessions with neuroengineers and animal training specialists.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Fluency in modern high-performance backend languages such as Python, Golang, C++, or Rust.
- Hardware/software debugging skills using lab equipment.
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, adaptability, resourcefulness, and goal orientation.
- Preferred experience with hardware-connected software, robotics, control theory, human-robot interaction, or real-time systems.
- Preferred working knowledge of compiled and system languages, ideally C/C++ or Rust.
- Preferred experience developing software for macOS or iOS using Objective-C or Swift.
- Comfort working closely with animals in a research environment.
