Responsibilities
- Design and evolve horizontally scalable backend microservices and large-scale distributed systems.
- Set technical direction and align architecture decisions across multiple teams and business areas.
- Drive resilient, secure, flexible, and scalable solutions across products and geographies.
- Mentor engineers, including senior engineers, and raise the organization-wide technical bar.
- Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain high-quality software.
- Participate in pairing and code reviews to support the growth of other engineers.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders on end-to-end customer experiences.
- Ensure comprehensive observability, performance monitoring, and robust error handling.
- Participate in team on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
- Contribute to mobile and frontend development when business needs require it.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale systems serving thousands or millions of users.
- Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages and the ability to work across multiple languages.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and raising technical standards across organizations.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and prior CI/CD experience.
- Strong communication skills for identifying risks and explaining trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Advanced English skills.
