Responsibilities
- Analyze, triage, debug, and resolve production issues across backend, frontend, data, and integration systems.
- Monitor production systems and respond to alerts, performance degradation, and support requests within service-level expectations.
- Own code changes from implementation through merge, deployment, and production validation.
- Support architecture changes, system integrations, and application maintenance as dependencies and upstream systems evolve.
- Lead, shepherd, onboard, and coordinate engineers while remaining hands-on with delivery.
- Partner with client-facing and go-to-market teams on issue prioritization and support requests.
- Manage ambiguity and prioritize work strategically across multiple concurrent projects.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience as a primary backend stack.
- Hands-on Django and Python experience as a secondary backend stack.
- Production frontend-development experience with React.
- Hands-on Kafka and GraphQL experience.
- Strong experience with SQL or MongoDB.
- Build and deployment experience, including personally merging and deploying production code.
- Experience with at least one of Dagster, Data Lakes, or Amazon Athena.
- Technical leadership experience involving leading, shepherding, onboarding, overseeing, or coordinating other engineers.
- Strong production problem-solving, troubleshooting, prioritization, autonomy, communication, and strategic-thinking skills.
- Enterprise experience is strongly preferred.
- Product-management experience with go-to-market teams and engineers, and experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf, are nice-to-have qualifications.
Benefits
