Responsibilities
- Design and develop software functionality using established coding standards and patterns.
- Write unit and integration tests for developed code.
- Participate in code reviews and assess performance, security, efficiency, and portability.
- Maintain product documentation.
- Work with partners and development teams to define requirements and agree on designs.
- Identify and resolve software performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to live production systems and automation of engineering processes such as testing and release.
- Lead technical discussions and provide technical advice to the team and customers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of commercial experience with Java programming and approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with software design patterns and Java Spring Framework, Guice, or a similar framework.
- A disciplined approach to testing and experience with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Docker.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience with enterprise software architecture, especially Java EE and Java 8 or later.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and Maven is desirable.
- Knowledge of probability and combinatorics is desirable.
- Experience acting as a primary technical decision maker for a team, platform, product, or major project is desirable.
- Knowledge of TypeScript and Scala is desirable.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Java Servlet containers such as Tomcat is desirable.
- Strong written and spoken communication, analysis, problem-solving, and technical discussion skills.
