Responsibilities
- Define the ownership and technical direction of the integration boundary in partnership with Platform and product engineering teams.
- Design, develop, and operate integrations, data ingestion systems, customer-facing APIs, and customer configuration and monitoring tools.
- Handle integration failure modes including duplicate delivery, partial writes, schema drift, mapping corruption, and data loss.
- Use monitoring, load testing, and observability to improve performance and reliability as connector volume scales.
- Coach engineers and promote modern software engineering and AI-assisted development practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Professional Services, and third-party integration vendors to deliver cohesive solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design, development, and testing of scalable database-driven applications.
- Hands-on experience building integrations against third-party APIs, including authentication, rate limits, pagination, partial failures, and vendor-side changes.
- Experience designing and shipping customer- or partner-facing APIs with appropriate endpoint design, versioning, authentication, and access control.
- Experience with data ingestion, field mapping, idempotency, schema drift, and reconciliation against a source of record.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or a comparable server-side language.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases, event-driven and webhook-based architectures, and cloud object storage.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, including prompt design, validation, and safe use of generated code.
- Familiarity with automated testing, load testing, CI/CD, and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, judgment, coaching, and cross-team collaboration skills.
