Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Responsibilities
- Review functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test assets.
- Build automated test cases and expand automated testing capabilities and coverage.
- Maintain test assets and contribute to test pipelines for product releases.
- Explore and implement AI-assisted testing strategies and agentic workflows.
- Evaluate AI/ML tools for test generation, defect prediction, intelligent test selection, flaky-test detection, risk-based prioritization, and automated root-cause analysis.
- Apply QA best practices and collaborate with scrum teams on test coverage.
- Provide feedback on product performance and user experience.
- Participate in grooming, retrospectives, planning, and other Agile SDLC activities.
- Configure and verify continuous build plans in Jenkins and SonarQube.
- Contribute to product documentation and release notes.
- Perform UI automation, web service and API testing, performance testing, integration testing, and configuration testing.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and explain system-level application issues.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of software quality assurance experience, ideally in financial technology or a related domain.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Finance or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience; an MSCS is a plus.
- Experience in a successful Agile environment using Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
- Foundational knowledge of Git and GitHub, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code review workflows.
- Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation and test workflow orchestration.
- Required experience with coded UI automation using Selenium WebDriver, Python, and Pytest.
- Working knowledge of a scripting language; Groovy and Ruby on Rails are a plus.
- Experience with web service and API testing using Postman or an equivalent tool.
- Performance testing experience; JMeter or Locust.io experience is a plus.
- SQL experience with MSSQL and Postgres.
- Experience with containerized environments and deployment tooling including Docker and Gradle.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools such as Claude Code and LLM-based QA tooling.
- Familiarity with SonarQube and other code-quality or static-analysis tools.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling, including APM, log collection and analysis, InfluxDB, and Grafana.
- Understanding of manual or automated deployment and maintenance of N-Tier applications.
- Familiarity with testing in Spring frameworks.
- Experience with financial technologies such as FIX, IDC, Reuters, Morningstar, or Bloomberg.
- Ability to work across teams, adapt to shifting priorities, and find equitable solutions.
