Responsibilities

  • Own the path from research outputs to production-ready detections, feeds, scoring inputs, customer alerts, and defined downstream handoff contracts.
  • Build and maintain threat-intelligence platform components including distribution servers, sandbox orchestration, OSINT ingestion, federated-sharing endpoints, agent runtimes, and rules engines.
  • Create and distribute detection content using YARA, Sigma, STIX patterns, behavioral indicators, and correlation pipelines.
  • Drive adoption of STIX 2.1 as an output schema and TAXII 2.1 as a distribution standard while governing durable data contracts.
  • Automate indicator enrichment, report drafting, corpus correlation, feed normalization, sandbox triage, retrieval, schema-constrained generation, evaluation, cost accounting, latency budgeting, prompt versioning, and output logging.
  • Coordinate with engineering, measurement, product, and platform teams to ensure research lands in products and explain the work to customers, journalists, or executives when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or strong public work from a self-taught background.
  • 5 to 8 years of hands-on engineering experience with meaningful exposure to threat intelligence, security research, or detection engineering.
  • Required experience building production systems that consume or emit threat-intelligence data.
  • Production-level Python and TypeScript/Node experience.
  • Experience with relational and cache data stores and at least one streaming or batch data platform.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of STIX 2.1, TAXII 2.1, MISP, and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • Hands-on experience with YARA, Sigma, STIX Patterning, malware-analysis output, adversary infrastructure data, and production detection logic.
  • Production experience using language models, including retrieval over a real corpus, schema-validated structured output, regression evaluation harnesses, cost analysis, and understanding of model failure modes.
  • Ability to bridge research and engineering, independently turn ideas into deployed pipelines, and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include policy-as-code or expression-language engines such as CEL or OPA, published security research, large-scale telemetry with tools such as Splunk or Kinesis, open-source threat-intelligence contributions, FAIR familiarity, and production-level Golang.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, stock options, health benefits, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement are offered, with benefits varying by country.
