Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Databricks environments across development, test, and production.
- Configure and optimize Databricks workspaces, clusters, and job orchestration.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
- Develop automation for platform provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and maintenance.
- Support deployment pipelines for Databricks notebooks, workflows, and releases.
- Monitor platform health, performance, security, and cost optimization.
- Implement RBAC, encryption, audit logging, and governance controls.
- Troubleshoot platform issues, cluster performance concerns, and workload failures.
- Integrate the platform with cloud services, data warehouses, and streaming platforms.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and cloud infrastructure teams.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or IT operations.
- At least two years of hands-on Databricks administration experience.
- Strong expertise with Databricks workspace administration, Apache Spark, Python, Bash or PowerShell, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.
- Experience supporting Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or other secure cloud environments.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, security, and platform monitoring.
- Experience implementing RBAC, encryption, audit logging, and security controls.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting and platform support experience.
- Databricks Associate or Platform Administrator certification is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Unity Catalog administration, data governance, streaming technologies, enterprise data warehouses, Databricks cluster optimization, federal cloud certifications, federal agency support, and Public Trust environments.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher.
