Base Salary

$110k - $120k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Databricks environments across development, test, and production.
  • Configure and optimize Databricks workspaces, clusters, and job orchestration.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
  • Develop automation for platform provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and maintenance.
  • Support deployment pipelines for Databricks notebooks, workflows, and releases.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, security, and cost optimization.
  • Implement RBAC, encryption, audit logging, and governance controls.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues, cluster performance concerns, and workload failures.
  • Integrate the platform with cloud services, data warehouses, and streaming platforms.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and cloud infrastructure teams.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or IT operations.
  • At least two years of hands-on Databricks administration experience.
  • Strong expertise with Databricks workspace administration, Apache Spark, Python, Bash or PowerShell, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.
  • Experience supporting Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or other secure cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking, security, and platform monitoring.
  • Experience implementing RBAC, encryption, audit logging, and security controls.
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP, FISMA, and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and platform support experience.
  • Databricks Associate or Platform Administrator certification is preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes Unity Catalog administration, data governance, streaming technologies, enterprise data warehouses, Databricks cluster optimization, federal cloud certifications, federal agency support, and Public Trust environments.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher.
