Responsibilities
- Contribute to and evolve the automated test framework for TypeScript/JavaScript frontend and Backend for Frontend layers.
- Build risk-prioritized automated coverage across functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance, accessibility, and reliability testing.
- Validate REST APIs across BFF and backend service layers, including contracts, authentication flows, error handling, and integrations.
- Identify, document, and resolve defects with developers and perform root cause analysis on test failures.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with pull-request gates, regression runs, and continuous feedback loops.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners from story refinement through release.
- Write Gherkin-style acceptance criteria, maintain traceable test plans, and participate in code reviews.
- Support production monitoring, feature flag validation, test data management, and continuous improvements to testing efficiency and coverage.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks across web, API, and integration layers.
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency demonstrated through hands-on Playwright test authoring, debugging, and framework maintenance.
- Experience testing REST APIs, including contracts, authentication flows, error scenarios, and service integrations.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and configuring pull-request gates, regression runs, and feedback loops.
- Understanding of risk-based testing, defect lifecycle management, and root cause analysis.
- Experience writing structured acceptance criteria, such as Gherkin, and translating them into automated coverage.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT to create test artifacts, with judgment to review and own the output.
- Professional proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include scalable framework experience, Java and Spring Boot testing, k6 or JMeter, WCAG/AODA accessibility validation, axe-core or Deque, internationalization testing, application security testing, Azure, regulated-industry experience, cross-team quality practices, and ISTQB or CSTE certification.
