Base Salary
$178k - $223k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical vision and architectural roadmap for FuzeRx’s B2B and consumer platforms.
- Design and implement microservices, APIs, database schemas, and data pipelines while writing clean, optimized, maintainable code.
- Own platform reliability and performance, including complex issue diagnosis, PostgreSQL workload optimization, and high-throughput AWS infrastructure.
- Establish engineering standards, lead code reviews, and promote modern testing practices.
- Mentor engineers and act as a technical consultant across multiple squads.
- Partner with Product Managers, Pharmacy Operations, and Engineering Managers on feasibility, roadmaps, and technology decisions.
- Design systems with privacy by design and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations including HIPAA and SOC 2.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and build prototypes or proofs of concept for new initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 3 years as a Tech Lead, Architect, or Staff Engineer designing complex distributed systems.
- Expertise in Ruby on Rails or Python and deep proficiency with PostgreSQL, TypeScript or JavaScript, and AWS infrastructure including ECS, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Proven experience designing, building, and scaling high-volume API-led transactional or logistical platforms.
- Ability to communicate architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Preferred experience in Pharmacy Tech, Digital Health, regulated FinTech, or HealthTech environments.
- Preferred knowledge of healthcare data standards, pharmacy management systems, or EHR integrations.
- Preferred experience leading architecture modernization projects such as monolith-to-services migrations and database overhauls with zero downtime in AWS.
