Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, debug, and document complex information systems, programs, subroutines, and scripts.
  • Support and enhance applications for premium billing, receipts processing, ACH drafting, claims recovery, delinquency management, COBRA administration, and self-funded billing.
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot system failures and performance events, reduce downtime, and prevent recurrence of problems.
  • Contribute to new development, existing-system enhancements, lifecycle upgrades, and modernization efforts.
  • Serve in project roles such as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead, and manage phases of larger efforts as assigned.
  • Maintain technical skills across relevant programming languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities, and networks.
  • Provide guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required, with experience substituted at one year of technical experience per year of college requested.
  • At least 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards.
  • At least 3 years of systems and programming experience.
  • At least 1 year of expert working knowledge of a programming language used at BCBST.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with .NET and/or C#.
  • Strong C# and SQL application development, analysis, design, coding, troubleshooting, and enterprise application lifecycle experience.
  • Ability to lead large and complex projects, communicate technical concepts to technical and business audiences, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively.
  • Preferred qualifications include healthcare or health insurance experience, billing or payment-processing systems experience, SQL Server, Google BigQuery, MVC web development, Agile experience, and AIX or COBOL exposure.
