Responsibilities
- Design and build microservices and Linux components that install, configure, and operate the platform on Kubernetes.
- Develop production services in Go and Python for platform lifecycle management and cloud connectivity.
- Contribute to connected cloud services when needed to solve end-to-end platform problems.
- Automate platform build, installation, and upgrades with Ansible across standard, hardened, and air-gapped Linux and Kubernetes environments.
- Improve secure connectivity, message routing, and reliable data and file transfer between on-premises and cloud systems.
- Partner with design and product management to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Create technical design documentation and contribute to end-user documentation.
- Debug and resolve development and production issues supporting customers.
- Lead technical direction, product innovation, engineering improvements, feature delivery, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, or master’s degree and 6 years of related experience.
- Deep hands-on experience designing, building, and operating production microservices.
- Commercial experience developing production systems in Go.
- Working proficiency in Python for platform, tooling, or service code.
- Strong Linux/Unix experience and expert-level Kubernetes knowledge, including resilient and highly available architecture design.
- Practical Ansible experience plus at least one of Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Helm in a Git-based workflow.
- Solid understanding of secure and reliable distributed-systems communication between on-premises software and cloud services.
- Ability to scope work accurately, provide reliable estimates, translate business needs into technical direction, and recommend industry standards.
- Preferred experience with edge, on-premises, air-gapped, or restricted-network deployments.
- Preferred experience leading features, mentoring peers, facilitating knowledge sharing, leading postmortems and root-cause analysis, and managing on-call coverage.
- Preferred experience influencing architecture for security, scalability, and reliability.
- Preferred familiarity with agentic AI development tools, FIPS-mode cryptography, hardened Linux baselines, compliance-driven engineering, and Java.
