Responsibilities
- Develop, test, deploy, and support middleware, backend APIs, and integrations for an online banking platform.
- Own features and applications end to end, including API design, unit testing, end-to-end testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
- Monitor applications and databases, identify performance bottlenecks, and resolve production issues.
- Lead junior developers, help unblock team members, decompose stories into tasks, and independently run an Agile team of developers and test engineers.
- Collaborate with product owners, tech leads, architects, technology management, product teams, and stakeholders across India and the United States.
- Champion automation, technical innovation, cloud initiatives, platform upgrades, and API best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent degree, in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8–11 years of overall software development experience.
- Strong Java skills, Java data structures and algorithms knowledge, and experience with Spring Boot and advanced Spring features.
- Experience building APIs and integrations, including Kafka, API gateways, distributed caching, and database systems.
- Experience with Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent environments, as well as CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Bitbucket.
- Strong SQL skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL, plus experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch or MongoDB.
- Experience with security vulnerability scanning and remediation using OWASP practices and tools such as Snyk.
- Experience with automated unit and end-to-end testing, performance troubleshooting, and production observability tools.
- Knowledge of React, Angular, JavaScript, Node.js, Linux, AWS, identity and authentication standards, privacy requirements, and financial applications.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, ownership, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills; experience with Apigee, Redis, Memcached, and AWS is preferred or advantageous.
