Responsibilities
- Build Service Mesh components collaboratively within a small engineering team.
- Design and implement traffic-management infrastructure using Rust, C++, or Go.
- Architect and develop workload and service-management infrastructure and other critical platform components.
- Design scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure for enterprise-wide fine-grained traffic control.
- Investigate critical system issues, address root causes, and improve operational excellence.
- Partner with platform teams and technical leaders to deliver extensible solutions and identify innovation opportunities.
- Advocate for traffic management principles and benefits across the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience, with the posting also presenting a 12-year experience track.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Technical Lead.
- Experience designing and implementing traffic management solutions that handle requests at scale.
- At least three years of experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Service Mesh features with Istio.
- Excellent development skills in Go, Rust, or C++, with a record of delivering mission-critical systems.
- Experience with cloud computing using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Preferred: deep understanding of virtual networks, route tables, subnets, gateways, modern web application architecture, API design patterns, and leading large-scale service delivery amid competing priorities.
