Responsibilities
- Lead critical DevOps projects, set technical direction, and influence organizational technical strategy.
- Architect, design, document, and implement complex DevOps systems and platforms.
- Develop infrastructure as code components for Balbix solutions and internal engineering tools running in AWS.
- Build and deploy an automated, repeatable, scalable, and secure security SaaS platform using CI/CD technologies.
- Design scalable and cost-efficient deployment infrastructure on Kubernetes.
- Implement infrastructure security practices including TLS, bastion hosts, certificate management, authentication and authorization, and network segmentation.
- Design and manage observability systems for Balbix solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers, collaborate cross-functionally, lead operational customer engagements, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of DevOps experience for Sr Staff candidates or 12–15 years for Principal candidates.
- At least 4 years of experience setting up and managing AWS infrastructure for a product development organization.
- At least 4 years of experience building infrastructure with Terraform.
- At least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Expert-level Python programming experience for scripting and automation.
- Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and services including ALB/ELB, IAM, KMS, EC2, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Excellent knowledge of configuration management systems such as Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD code management and deployment technologies such as GitLab or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Nginx, HAProxy, Kafka, and other public-cloud components.
- Strong architecture, technical leadership, documentation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing observability systems with Grafana, Prometheus, or the LGTM stack is a plus.
- Experience deploying and managing Aurora RDS PostgreSQL, ElastiCache, Cassandra, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, or ClickHouse is a plus.
- Cloud certifications, especially AWS Cloud Solutions Architect, DevOps, Developer, or Database certifications, are a plus.
- MLOps experience and experience with AI technologies for infrastructure management are a plus.
- Ability to remain focused and calm under pressure, manage competing deadlines, and support on-call duties.
