Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, verify, document, and test software applications, engineering tools, and reusable software libraries.
- Build front-end applications and back-end services and components using JavaScript, C, and C++.
- Manage interactions among front-end, back-end, databases, libraries, and external hardware or software components.
- Apply software design, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving techniques to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to team members.
- Take technical ownership of assigned features, software components, dependencies, risks, and project milestones.
- Follow applicable engineering processes, coding standards, quality practices, and configuration-management guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software development and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software application development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, C, and C++.
- Experience developing front-end and back-end applications, software tools, and reusable software libraries.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using Visual Studio and other development or debugging tools.
- Understanding of software architecture, system software concepts, operating systems, binary executables, and debugging information.
- Experience with software configuration management, change-control processes, development environments, debuggers, static analysis, code-quality, and software-testing tools.
- Experience with SVN, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with demonstrated technical ownership.
- Preferred experience includes aerospace, avionics, safety-critical, or regulated software development; ARINC 661, ARINC 429, or AFDX; Agile/Scrum; technical leadership; and mentoring.
