Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications for Maps, Location, and Assets.
- Lead complex architectural evolution while balancing operational delivery and long-term system performance.
- Own feature lifecycles end to end and use AI-assisted development tools with engineering guardrails.
- Establish test strategies and acceptance criteria to support reliability, graceful degradation, and feature flag rollouts.
- Instrument features for observability of performance SLIs, security posture, and resource consumption.
- Debug distributed software issues across client, server, and cloud infrastructure environments.
- Document technical decisions, maintain Architecture Decision Records, and promote technical clarity.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and software delivery best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined software engineering experience focused on scalable web-based solutions.
- Full-stack expertise in modern web frameworks and service-oriented architectures.
- Practical experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Postgres, AWS, and Terraform or similar tools.
- A strong record of contributing to large engineering initiatives, system reliability, production observability, and operational best practices.
- Strong debugging, documentation, communication, and system-design simplification skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with or strong interest in GIS and spatial data visualization, such as Mapbox, MapLibre, Leaflet, or PostGIS, is preferred.
