Responsibilities
- Translate network observability requirements into API contracts, data models, and actionable engineering requirements.
- Drive architecture for AI-native Network APIs, MCP servers, agentic workflows, and unified observability data layers.
- Build production APIs in Python or Java using telemetry, inventory, topology, and network data.
- Develop MCP servers and autonomous agent pipelines for troubleshooting, capacity planning, provisioning assistance, and network self-service.
- Integrate Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Grafana Loki, streaming telemetry, SNMP, flow data, topology graphs, and asset repositories.
- Develop unit, integration, contract, adversarial-prompt, and LLM evaluation testing for APIs, MCP endpoints, and agent interactions.
- Define deployment, release, environment planning, configuration management, and MCP lifecycle practices.
- Support production network APIs, MCP servers, agent workflows, and observability pipelines while troubleshooting data, reasoning, and tool-contract failures.
- Collaborate with customers, NOC teams, product managers, architects, and data engineers to design AI-powered network experiences.
- Evaluate emerging LLM, MCP, networking, network foundation model, and vector-native data technologies and share findings internally.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on platform, infrastructure, or network software systems.
- Experience building APIs that consume observability, telemetry, or network data at scale.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java for backend API and data pipeline development.
- Hands-on AI/LLM application development experience, including prompt engineering, tool calling, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or AutoGen.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol as a server implementer or consumer, or the ability to adopt structured AI tool interface specifications quickly.
- Experience with observability stacks such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kafka or similar streaming and metrics platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Networking certification or demonstrable knowledge of BGP, MPLS, VLANs, IP addressing, and related network concepts is preferred.
- Familiarity with network inventory systems, CMDB/DCIM platforms, or graph-based topology data stores is preferred.
- Experience with multi-agent orchestration, tool safety guardrails, structured agent output validation, and vector databases such as Pinecone, pgvector, or Weaviate is preferred.
