Responsibilities
- Participate as a full member of the assigned engineering team, including team discussions, decisions, and technical design processes.
- Write production software with meaningful impact on Stripe’s business and users.
- Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to seek and incorporate feedback.
- Learn unfamiliar systems, communicate work status clearly, and use current AI tooling to accelerate development while validating its output.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in computer science.
- Programming experience through side projects, classwork, previous internships, or other multi-person projects such as open source contributions.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and collaboration with mentors or subject matter experts.
- Ability to use AI tools while applying critical thinking and professional judgment to review, refine, and validate outputs.
- Preferred: at least one year of university education or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technical area alongside general technical skills.
- Preferred: experience writing high-quality pull requests, maintaining test coverage, navigating new codebases, working across multiple languages, and communicating clearly with stakeholders.
