Base Salary
$134k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain resilient containerized Node.js applications for extracting, translating, and loading operational technology data.
- Integrate legacy and modern protocols including BACnet, MQTT, HTTPS/REST, SignalR/WebSockets, and raw TCP connections.
- Translate disparate data formats into a common data model and store data in PostgreSQL and AWS RDS using logical replication.
- Write well-tested code with strong reliability, automated testing, and clean error recovery.
- Participate in code reviews and improve shared libraries, patterns, and integration tooling.
- Support and troubleshoot production ETL applications and connectivity with on-premises and legacy OT systems.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to deploy applications using Kubernetes, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on backend data pipelines, ETL architecture, and API integrations.
- Expert-level Node.js proficiency, including asynchronous patterns, error handling, testing, and package management.
- Experience with REST APIs, MQTT, WebSockets, and low-level TCP socket programming; BACnet experience is a plus.
- Experience with containerization, relational databases, data pipelines, and deploying and troubleshooting applications in Kubernetes.
- Experience authoring and maintaining AWS CloudFormation templates for repeatable AWS resource provisioning.
- Familiarity with building management systems and industrial control system architectures and operational technology data.
- Preferred qualifications include Denver-area residency, DoD or federal contractor experience, relevant technical certifications, OT or ICS/SCADA experience, Nozomi, DISA STIG, NIST 800-53, and DoD Zero Trust familiarity.
