Responsibilities
- Design and execute functional, negative, performance, and stress tests for MCU and embedded wireless products.
- Validate bootloader and firmware features, including upgrade, regression, and failure-handling scenarios.
- Build and maintain scalable automated test suites integrated into continuous integration infrastructure.
- Investigate CI test failures and anomalies, perform triage and root-cause analysis, and collaborate with developers on fixes.
- Debug low-level and system integration issues with development teams.
- Develop custom C/Embedded C applications for test enablement, peripheral validation, and targeted coverage.
- Build, manage, and maintain distributed hardware test networks for regression and platform coverage.
- Automate deployments, platform changes, scripting workflows, and repetitive tasks to improve test-environment stability and team productivity.
- Reproduce and resolve customer issues in collaboration with customer support teams.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of relevant industry experience in embedded testing, SDET, or QA automation.
- Proven experience designing, executing, and automating bootloader and firmware validation.
- Strong hands-on experience with bare-metal environments and embedded bring-up/testing practices.
- Working knowledge of RTOS-based systems such as uC/OS and FreeRTOS.
- Understanding of low-level drivers and peripherals including SPI, UART, and I2C.
- Strong programming skills in C, Embedded C, C++, and Python, plus Shell/Bash scripting.
- Experience developing automated tests with Pytest or an equivalent framework.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux development and test environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Git.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices; Jenkins experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker for test-environment packaging and repeatable setups is preferred.
- Experience with distributed hardware test infrastructure, FPGA environments, and embedded CI at scale is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, conversational fluency in English, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Experience with AI-powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making is a plus.
