Base Salary
$155k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own Hazel’s data platform end to end across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and reliability.
- Optimize ingestion pipelines for low-latency data availability and consistent performance during peak seasonal surges.
- Build the data transformation layer to provide clean and predictable data.
- Automate data integrations and transformations, including further developing AI agents that write, build, and test integrations.
- Ship new source integrations end to end.
- Own data platform reliability as the platform scales.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience building production data infrastructure and owning a warehouse relied on by others.
- Deep understanding of dbt, SQL, data grain, incrementality, and data modeling.
- Strong Python skills for building the ingestion layer.
- Production experience owning an orchestrator such as Dagster, Airflow, Temporal, or Prefect.
- Practical experience using coding agents and evaluating where they help or hurt productivity.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Comfort working as the initial sole owner of the data platform and helping build out the function.
- Preferred experience with open table formats, e-commerce or direct-to-consumer data, Shopify, Klaviyo, Amazon SP-API, advertising platforms, and multi-tenant warehouse design.
