Base Salary
$70k - $95k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications, backend services, and distributed processing solutions.
- Build and optimize batch and real-time Apache Spark pipelines for large-scale data processing.
- Develop data transformations, enrichment, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation solutions.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and improve database performance for high-volume workloads.
- Analyze requirements, identify performance bottlenecks, and resolve production issues through root-cause analysis.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design, code reviews, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Use AI-assisted development tools, prompt engineering, contextual data management, and foundational model evaluation.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Core Java development skills, including object-oriented design, collections, multithreading, concurrency, and JVM performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience developing and optimizing Apache Spark applications and large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex query development, query tuning, and database optimization.
- Experience analyzing and manipulating large datasets, designing data pipelines, and applying data modeling principles.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments and experience with Git or similar source control systems.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL is required or relevant to the technical environment.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, distributed computing concepts, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
